The DECICE Project Sparks Excitement at HiPEAC 2025

E4 Computer Engineering, a partner in the DECICE consortium, attended the 2025 High Performance, Edge, and Cloud Computing (HiPEAC) conference, held at the Palau de Congressos in Barcelona, Spain. Now in its twentieth edition, HiPEAC is the premier annual networking event organized by the HiPEAC community. It serves as a leading European forum for experts in computer architecture, programming models, compilers, and operating systems, covering general-purpose, embedded, and cyber-physical systems. The conference fosters discussions on key topics such as safety-critical dependencies, cybersecurity, energy efficiency, and machine learning, bringing together academic and industrial researchers, representatives from universities, supercomputing centers, research transfer organizations, and technology companies.

A long-time sponsor of HiPEAC, E4 Computer Engineering has been participating with its booth since 2020. The event provides an ideal setting for engaging discussions with partners, customers, and vendors, as well as a valuable opportunity to showcase the European projects in which the company is actively involved.

This year, the DECICE project poster was prominently displayed at E4’s booth, attracting significant attention from attendees. There was particularly strong interest in the intelligent scheduler currently being developed within the project. As workload optimization for heterogeneous cloud infrastructures remains a critical research challenge, the innovative solution proposed by DECICE was seen as both novel and highly promising. The lively discussions surrounding the project highlighted its relevance and the importance of the challenges it aims to address in distributed computing.
