Bridging innovation from Edge to Cloud at CloudConf event in Torino
TOP-IX has recently participated at the CloudConf2025 event in Torino (March 2026), underscoring its role in the evolution of cloud technologies.
In an era where digital transformation and collaborative innovation are paramount, TOP-IX is actively involved in groundbreaking EU-funded projects—such as DECICE, FLUIDOS and DOME—and strategic initiatives like Gaia-X. Through these activities, and thanks to the brand-new FULCRUM project, TOP-IX is paving the way for a more open, interoperable, and sustainable digital ecosystem.
Supporting deployment in the DECICE project
TOP-IX proudly serves as a member of the DECICE project consortium. This project aims to seamlessly integrate the computing continuum—from IoT devices at the edge to expansive cloud and HPC infrastructures. Now in its deployment phase, DECICE leverages TOP-IX’s expertise to deliver adaptive, AI-driven optimisation and automated application deployment.
Showcasing at CloudConf Torino
CloudConf event – last March 26 – in Torino provided a dynamic platform for leaders and innovators to converge, share insights, and shape the future of cloud computing. TOP-IX’s participation underscored its role in promoting a federated, bottom-up approach and the adoption of shared trust and federation frameworks.
The Fulcrum Project: unveiling collaborative potential
A highlight of CloudConf was the presentation by TOP-IX Executive Director Leonardo Camiciotti announcing the release of the Fulcrum Core code for collaborative development. The Fulcrum Project is the first universal federation of cloud infrastructures and services, and it is composed of the InterCloud Exchange Foundation, acting as a consensus room to define and agree upon open source frameworks and the Computing Exchange Market that allows cloud and application service providers to exchange resources distributed and aligned with the European Trust Framework. TOP-IX co-founded this initiative together with BBBELL, OPIQUAD and Testudo.
